Brazil selling cars retreats 5.5% in March, pointing Fenabrave


Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles totaled 268,359 units in March, showing decrease of 5.5% compared to the 284,079 units emplacadas in the same month last year and an increase of 20.6% compared to the total of 222,487 vehicles sold in February, said on Monday the National Federation of Motor Vehicles (Fenabrave).
The accumulated up to March 2013, 787,678 units were sold cars and light trucks, an increase of 1.96% compared to the period from January to March 2012, when 772,538 vehicles were emplacados.

In March of this year, sales of trucks and buses totaled 15,575 units, down 5.2% compared to the number of 16,433 registrations in March last year. Compared to February, when 12,606 units were sold, sales of trucks and buses grew 23.5%. Accumulated in 2013, sales of these vehicles totaled 42,784 units, down 6.3% compared to 45,684 units in the same period of 2012.

If they added motorcycles, road equipment, agricultural machinery and other Automobiles licensed, total vehicles sold in March 2013 reached 421,216, up 20.8% over the 348,771 units in February, totaling 1,220,736 units in the year. The cumulative result of the first three months of the year represents a decrease of 5.7% compared to the same period last year, when 1,294,974 units were sold. Ante March last year, when 478,887 units were sold, a drop of 12% in the third month of this year.
